USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) Scholarship Program

The USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) Scholarship Program was established to award scholarships to outstanding Asian Pacific American students at the University of Southern California (USC). Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievements, personal merit and ability to contribute to the Asian Pacific American community. The student’s demonstrated financial need will also be considered.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicant must be a full-time student (undergraduate, transfer, graduate or professional) enrolled in a USC degree program or will be enrolled (in the case of an incoming first year, transfer or graduate student) for the entire year.
- Applicant must have achieved a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4-point system) in his/her high school or college work.
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S.
- Applicant must submit financial aid documents to the USC Office of Financial Aid by the University deadline date and, in most cases, subsequently qualify for financial aid in order to be considered for an APAA scholarship. Trustee Scholars are not eligible.
The deadline for the 2006-2007 APAA scholarships is on February 10, 2006. All applications must be received by the postmarked deadline of February 10, 2006. Late or incomplete applications will not be eligible for consideration. The scholarship application form will be available in the fall of 2006.

The Asian Pacific Social Work Caucus Scholarship - awarded to a student in the School of Social Work.
- George & Sakaye Aratani Scholarship - min 3.0 G.P.A.
- Edward T. Cheng Scholarship in New Media - student at Annenberg School
- Angela Moonja Cho Memorial Scholarship - prefer immigrant pharmacy student preferred, not higher than 3.5 GPA
- Soichi Fukui Memorial Scholarship - Min. 3.0 G.P.A.
- Edna and Yu-Shan Han Memorial Scholarship - Chinese descent with min. 3.5 GPA
- T. George Hayakawa Commemorative Scholarship - prefer student in architecture, fine arts, or civil engineering and had family members interned in WWII.
- Dr. and Mrs. Michael and Kristen K Sakaida Lew Scholarship - prefer a student in the field of medicine or dental hygiene with academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement.
- Mary Lee Shon Scholarship - meritorious student in medicine, education, law or social work
- Carl M. Tamaki Memorial Scholarship - Min. 3.0 G.P.A.
- Kenjohn Wang Scholarship - student involved in community service preferred.
- Royal Morales Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to an outstanding student in the School of Social Work.

Gin Wong - endowed scholarship honors the USC Trustee and architecture alumnus. This award is presented to a 4th year and renewed for the 5th year based on academic excellence and financial need.
