Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts has announced it will award a total of $50,000 to 25 high school seniors this academic year through its scholarship program.

Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with $30,000 allocated to eligible Hispanic applicants on behalf of the Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources Program, or HACER. Scholarship applications are available online at www.rmhc.org, or by calling 1-800-310-4053. Students may also obtain applications from guidance counselors. The deadline for submitting an application is Jan. 17, 2006
