Scholarships for graduating seniors
November 26, 2005 - Posted in Online Education, ScholarshipFriendship Dairies will award a total of $20,000 in scholarship money to 10 eligible high school seniors across Massachusetts who have been accepted to an accredited college or university for the fall 2006 semester.
Scholarships range from $1,500 to $5,000. Former New England Patriot Ted Johnson joins the Friendship panel of judges to select the winners.
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who live in Massachusetts. Selection criteria is based on academic achievement (3.0 or higher grade point average) and a demonstration of leadership in school and/or community volunteer activities that promote a safe and friendly environment.
In addition to submitting an application, students must also submit the following at the same time: a four-year high school transcript; letters of reference - one from a teacher familiar with the student’s academic ability and one from a community leader (not from school) who is familiar with the student’s volunteer activities; a detailed list of school and community volunteer work; and an essay (1,000 words or less) explaining how they have made their high school and/or community a friendlier place and/or how they plan to use their education to make the world a friendlier place.
Applications received after the Dec. 16 deadline will not be considered.
