The Gates Millennium Scholars is for African Americans, American Indian/ Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American to aid in their college education. Students need to have a minimum 3.3 GPA, be a citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the U.S. Must have demonstrated leadership abilities through community service, extracurricular, or other activities. You can find an application online at www.gmsp.org or there are applications available in the counseling office. Requires additional nomination forms to be filled out and student must write an essay. You must have filed your FAFSA form and meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Deadline: Jan. 13.
