Applications ready for AER scholarships

The scholarships are administered by Army Emergency Relief and range from $1,000 to $2,200.
The scholarships are available to dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children of Soldiers on active duty, retired or deceased while on active duty or after retirement; the children of gray-area Reservists; registered in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS); unmarried for the entire academic year and under age 22 on May 1, 2006.
Scholarships are awarded based on income, family size and special financial obligations. The scholarship funds may be used to assist with tuition, fees, books, supplies, or school room and board, on or off campus, at the student’s request.
Applicants must be enrolled, accepted or pending acceptance as full-time students in schools accredited by the Department of Education. Applicants must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale for funds to be disbursed.
Applications are available at ACS through Feb. 20, 2006, or from the Army Emergency Relief Web site, www.aerhq.org.
