Gannett Foundation - Madelyn P. Jennings Scholarship Awards

December 17, 2005 - Posted in Scholarship

The Gannett Foundation sponsors these one-time awards of $3,000 to be given annually to children of full-time Gannett Co., Inc. employees who will shortly complete high school and are about to enter college. Twelve awards are granted each spring to the winners for their freshman academic year commencing the following fall. Named in honor of Madelyn P. Jennings, who served as Gannett’s senior human resources executive for 15 years, the awards are in recognition of her strong interest in education and her dedication to the Gannett employees she served.

The Gannett Foundation has an agreement with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), an independent, not-for-profit organization, to select the scholarship winners. All aspects of the selection process and the administration of the awards are handled by NMSC. Other scholarships, financial aid or grants will not affect the consideration of any applicant for this award.

Who Is Eligible to Compete For a Madelyn P. Jennings Scholarship Award?
The competition is open to any student whose parent is a regular, full-time Gannett Co., Inc. employee on the date of the student’s application and at the time that the award is granted. The submission deadline for the 2007 awards competition is January 1, 2006.
