Cargill, in partnership with the National FFA Organization, will award $350,000 in scholarships this year to high school seniors living in Cargill communities who plan to enroll in accredited post-secondary institutions in the fall of 2006.

The Cargill Community Scholarship Program is designed to serve high school seniors in Cargill communities planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree in any major. Students are selected based on academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular and other activities. The program, administered by FFA, will award 350 scholarships of $1,000 each. In addition, each recipient’s high school will receive a small grant for the school library.

FFA will process the applications and select the winners. FFA performs independently of Cargill and makes its awards without regard to race, color, creed, religion, handicap or national origin. Students do not need to be a member of FFA to be eligible.

Scholarship guidelines and applications are available at Cargill locations, area high schools and online at www.cargill.com and www.ffa.org Applications are due Feb. 15. Scholarships will be awarded in May.
