February 1 is the deadline to apply for scholarships for a global journalism master’s program at Örebro University in Sweden.

The program lasts two years and is open to journalists from Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Northern and Eastern Europe. The Swedish Development Agency (SIDA) and the Swedish Institute are sponsoring the scholarships, which cover airfare, lodging, health insurance and a daily expense allowance. Tuition is free for all students.

Organizers hope the scholarships will help improve journalists’ ability to cover international news. A focus of the program will be technology and its relevance to investigative journalism. Courses begin at the end of August.
