Charter to award $1,000 scholarships

This is the eighth year that Charter is offering this program as an extension of their contribution to education through the nationally recognized Cable in the Classroom program, which provides free cable resources to private and public schools.
This is the eighth year for the Charter Communications scholarship, and the sixth year that each scholarship is worth $1,000. “As the cost of education and the cost of living continue to rise, we feel our scholarships are an important way to support further education of students in our local communities,” commented Washa. “The 2005 Charter Communications Student Scholarship recipients were Justin Schmidt from Campbellsport High School, Kevin Knier from Sheboygan South High School, Jeana Brooks from Winneconne High School, Melinda McNett from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, Andrew Hogue from Wausau West High School, and Erin Reynolds from Northland Pines High School.
Scholarship applications are available at any Charter Communications office location or at each local high school. Applicants need to be graduating seniors obtaining at least a 2.8 grade point average with plans to attend an accredited college and pursue a degree in communications, marketing, business, computer technology, engineering or a related field. To qualify, applications must be returned to Charter Communications no later than Friday, March 31.
