Scholarships for studying business in Irish

January 27th, 2006 - Posted in Scholarship

Eleven current first-year students have been awarded the scholarships to the value of € 2,000 each, and the school of business at GMIT are working on an enhanced package of scholarships for 2006-2007 and beyond.

The BA in gno agus cumarsaid is taught entirely through the medium of Irish and incorporates a wide range of business subjects with practical communication skills. It is particularly suitable for Gaeltacht students as well as students from all-Irish schools outside the Gaeltacht.

Graduates of the BAGC programme, which was established in 1999, are to be found working, particularly in Gaeltacht areas, in business, accountancy, marketing, and community development, in radio and television, in teaching and translation.

For further information about the course and the scholarship scheme, contact Ronan Mac Gearailt, co-ordinator, school of business, GMIT at (091) 742438, or email ronan.macgearailt@gmit.ie.
