Wakefield Elks Scholarships
February 2, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipWakefield Lodge of Elks #1276 announces its scholarship programs. Applications are available through the Lodge of Elks or at the Wakefield High School guidance office, and any other locations noted. Applications must be returned to the Wakefield lodge.
Massachusetts Elks Assoc. Scholarship: These scholarships are available to any student. Grants may be renewed yearly, based on continued demonstration of financial need and academic achievement, The term “scholarship grants” shall not be construed to include work-study earnings or repayable student loans. No assistance will be provided to any student who is already receiving in excess of $15,000 in grants. Deadline, Feb. 15.
Massachusetts Elks Assoc. Vocational Grant Scholarship: These one-year grants of $1,000 are available to any full-time students enrolled in a two-year vocational technical course leading to a Terminal Associates Degree, certificate or diploma, but less than a bachelor’s degree. This is not for part-time or night school students. Applicants may be graduating high school seniors who desire training or retraining and are a U.S. or naturalized citizen. No age requirement. High school diploma or GED not required. Deadline, March 1.
