Kohl’s Scholarships for young volunteers
February 4, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipKohl’s Department Stores will honor nearly 1,500 youths nationwide in 2006 and award nearly $200,000 in scholarships for children who are volunteering in their community.
Nominations for the Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program will be accepted through March 15.
To nominate a young volunteer, pick up a nomination form at any Kohl’s store or at www.kohlscorporation.com. Nominations must be turned in at a Kohl’s location by close of business March 15.
Nominees must be between the ages of 6 and 18 at the nomination deadline and will be judged in two age groups: 6 to 12 and 13 to 18.
Two winners will be selected at each store — one from each age range — to receive a $50 gift card. Those winners will go on to compete for one of 148 regional scholarships worth $1,000 each. Regional winners will compete for one of the 10 $5,000 national scholarships.
In addition, Kohl’s will contribute $1,000 to a non-profit organization on behalf of each national winner. National winners will be announced in July.
