Cattlemen offer 8 $250 scholarships
February 5, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipThe Tri County Cattlemen have eight $250 scholarships available for high school seniors. The application deadline is April 1. Winners will be announced in May.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must be a high school senior involved in 4-H or FFA or take agriculture-related courses and be a resident of Warren, Henderson or McDonough counties.
The student must complete a 250 word original essay on “A Significant Challenge to the Beef Industry” and must have a teacher recommendation.
Applicants do not have to major in agriculture to be eligible for this scholarship. To equally distribute the scholarships, a maximum of three scholarships will be awarded to any one of the three counties.
Applications have been distributed to area high school guidance counselors and ag advisers.
