The Circuit, the voice for Cincinnati’s IT community, today announced that it has awarded five, $1,000 scholarships to five area students who are pursuing information technology (IT) degrees at area universities. Each will receive the scholarship funds through the university’s financial aid office this fall to assist in furthering their IT education. Three of the students are currently attending the University of Cincinnati, one is attending Xavier University and one is attending Northern Kentucky University.

The recipients of this year’s scholarships are:

* Anne Cross, University of Cincinnati,
* Michelle LaChance, Northern Kentucky University,
* Jonathan Montagne, University of Cincinnati,
* Sean Murray, Xavier University, and
* Erin Osterfeld, University of Cincinnati.

“Once again, we had several deserving applicants which made it tough to narrow down to only five awards,” said Jim Cunningham, president of The Circuit. “This year’s recipients were a very diverse group, including three women, one of whom is a single mother returning to college more than 17 years after graduating high school. All of the award winners are aggressively seeking careers in the IT industry, and based upon their commitment and the glowing recommendations from their teachers and mentors, Cincinnati’s IT community has much talent to build upon. With the help of area technology organizations, we hope to raise even more funds to support our local IT students.” “It has been ISOCNET’s pleasure over the past few years to be the Diamond Sponsor of the Circuit’s Scholarship Golf Outings,” said Rick Cummins, president of ISOCNET. “The additional financial support has been greatly appreciated by the recipients as it provides an opportunity for them to advance their IT education. It also gives us here at ISOCNET a good feeling knowing we are helping to forward the education of the recipients in a field we hold dear to our hearts - Information Technology.”

The $5,000 was generated from the Circuit’s 2005 Scholarship Golf Outing Presented by ISOCNET - The Internet Company. The 2006 Scholarship Golf Outing Presented by ISOCNET - The Internet Company is scheduled for May 22, 2006 at O’Bannon Creek Golf Club in Loveland, OH. PLUS, the awardees have been invited to assist with registration at the 2006 outing!
