A WELSH further education college is to become the first to launch an online radio station through an innovative website.

Dozens of schools have set up their own stations using award-winning website www.radiowaves.co.uk, but Coleg Gwent will become the first further education college to join their ranks.

The college, the largest further education provider in Wales, will launch its presence on Radio Waves in the next few weeks under a name picked by a student.

The title First4Students FM is the brainchild of Jessica Rausen,

who is studying for an Institute of Leadership and Management qualification at the college’s Pontypool Campus. She won £50 for her entry.
