Hot Springs High School Alumni Association (HSHS) Scholarships
February 21, 2006 - Posted in Education News, ScholarshipHOT SPRINGS n The Hot Springs High School Alumni Association announces the deadlines of one award and two scholarships for soon-to-be Hot Springs graduates, and/or former Hot Springs graduates.
The H.R. Woodward Memorial Science Award is a cash award of $200 to be given to a current Hot Springs High School (HSHS) graduating senior that is the top student in biology and related sciences during the 2005-06 school year.
The Centennial Teacher Education Scholarship is a $500 scholarship which will be distributed in one payment after enrollment and attendance has been verified. Applicants must be HSHS graduating seniors in good standing who are planning on going in to teaching, or be a HSHS graduate currently pursuing a college degree in teacher education.
Secondly, the Technical Training Scholarship will be awarded to up to two individuals for $500 each. Applicants must be HSHS graduating seniors in good standing who are planning on attending a post-high school technical training institution, or be a HSHS graduate currently enrolled in a technical training program. The funds will be distributed to the winner once enrollment and attendance is verified.
The winners for both of the two scholarships will be selected by the HSHS Alumni Association Committee, with input from the HSHS guidance counselor, one senior class advisor, and the high school principal or her designee.
Applications can be picked up in the HSHS guidance counselor’s office. Deadline for the two scholarships is April 10.
