General Assembly Scholarship Program 2006-2007
February 23, 2006 - Posted in Education News, ScholarshipState Rep. Karen May, D-58th, of Highland Park is accepting applications for the 2006-2007 General Assembly Scholarship Program.
Each year, eight one-year General Assembly Scholarships are available from the State Board of Education for students residing in May’s legislative district, which includes portions of Bannockburn, Deerfield, Glencoe, Highland Park, Highwood, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest and Northbrook. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition at an Illinois state university.
The eight available General Assembly scholarships are open to high school seniors as well as current college students. Decisions will be made based on academic achievement, financial need, extra curricular activities, community involvement and recommendations.
Interested applicants can pick up an application at 210 Skokie Valley Road, Suite 12 in Highland Park. All applications must be completed and returned no later than 4 p.m. on April 7. Applications can also be requested by calling May’s office at (847) 831-5858.
