The Westlake Women’s Club is now taking applications from high school seniors for its annual college scholarships, totaling $8,400 this year.

Students attending Agoura, Conejo Valley, Indian Hills, Newbury Park, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks and Westlake high schools are eligible to apply. One senior from each school will receive a scholarship.

Selection of recipients will be based on recommendations of teachers and counselors, academic achievement, community and school activities and the need for financial help.

A special award of $1,200, the Karen Rufener Perpetual Scholarship, will be given to one senior chosen from the entire Conejo area. To be considered for this scholarship, a minimum 3.7 grade point average is required.
