COUNCIL OF PTAs OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO AREA SENIORS
February 28th, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipThe Humble ISD Council of PTAs is offering scholarships to area seniors who attend Humble High School, Kingwood High School, and Quest High School. Applications can be obtained through the guidance counselor or students may obtain the application and guidelines from the Humble ISD Council of PTAs website at: www.humble.k12.tx.us/pta.htm. The purpose of the Council Scholarship is to “support students who are focused on achieving career goals through higher education,†states Vera Eisterhold, Scholarship Chair. “Our goal this year is to have over 100 applicants apply for scholarships. We want to help as many seniors as we can,†continued Eisterhold.
Guidelines for applying for the scholarship are as follows:
* Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a public school in Humble ISD;
* Applicant will have a GPA of 2.5 or its equivalent;
* Applicant or applicant’s parent/guardian must be a member of a local PTA/PTSA in good standing;
* Applicant must plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university or a technical institute;
* Applicant must not be in the immediate family of a member of the Humble ISD Council Scholarship Committee;
* Completed application and required paperwork must be delivered to the Humble ISD Council of PTAs by Friday, March 31, 2006.
