Worcester State freshman wins scholarship pageant

A freshman at Worcester State College is the new Miss East Longmeadow.

Gina Rosati of East Longmeadow was crowned Saturday at the 46th annual scholarship pageant at the local high school. Rosati is majoring in occupational therapy.

First runner-up was Danielle Portier, followed by second runner-up Emma Gilbert and third runner-up Casey Claffey.

Rosati will represent her town in the Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Pageant this summer in Fall River. She also will make appearances at local parades, carnivals and other events.

In addition to the crown, Rosati also received a five-thousand dollar scholarship. The three runners-up receive cash scholarships in the amounts of two-thousand dollars, one-thousand and 500.
