The PhD candidate will do research in the area of ontology engineering, in particular the construction and use of ontology in order to enhance indexing and search in large distributed multimedia collections. The candidate will work in the context of the MultmediaN E-Culture project, aimed at providing improved access to Dutch cultural-heritage.
Collections (see http://e-culture.multimedian.nl). We offer an attractive research environment with a series of collaborative national and international research projects, in particular in the area of novel web applications.
REQUIREMENT
Master degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or related disciplines.
