Broadband Learning Corporation (”Broadband Learning”) (TSX VENTURE:BLC - News), a leader in distance learning, is pleased to announce it has entered into a joint venture with School Improvement Network. The purpose of the 50/50 joint venture is to create and support an advanced online Masters of Education degree program, using the highly regarded Video Journal of Education content produced by the School Improvement Network. The joint venture, which will operate as Broadband School Improvement Inc. (”BSI”), has been created as a response to the significant demand for continuing education of K-12 teachers generated by the “No Child Left Behind” federal legislation in the United States.

Broadband Learning is providing an initial investment of US$500,000 to provide launch staffing, co-ordinate University accreditation and develop distribution chains. School Improvement Network is providing content from its extensive Continuing Education video library. BSI has now retained two experienced consultants to drive curriculum development and initial accreditation/partnership with universities.

“When we compare the quality of the BSI curriculum to that being offered by other online Masters programs, we have a marked advantage.” said Ed Giles, CEO of Broadband Learning Corporation. “Other on-line curricula are text-based courses assembled by graduate students and teachers assistants. The BSI curriculum stands head and shoulders above the crowd with full motion video classes emulating the classroom environment available on-demand, taught by the leading minds in the education industry.” Giles said.
