Ozarka English Department Scholarship
March 20th, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipMELBOURNE — The English Department at Ozarka College recently announced its seventh annual writing competition for high school seniors in Izard, Fulton, Sharp and Stone counties. Two students will be selected as winners of the writing competition, and each will be awarded a one-year, full tuition scholarship to Ozarka College. Winning essays will be published in Ozarka College’s collection of student writings entitled In Flight.
Writing may be any form of original work including essay, poem or short story. The winner will be selected according to creativity, insightfulness, organization, ability to hold the interest of the four-county community and grammar/mechanics. The length of the essay should fit the topic, and the pages should be typed double-spaced in 10- to 12-point font. Students should include title of paper, student name, name of high school and a phone number for award notification. Essays must be e-mailed or postmarked by April 11 and e-mailed to jfulbright@ozarka.edu or mailed to Ozarka College English Department, in care of Joanna Fulbright, P.O. Box 10, Melbourne, AR 72556.
