Scholarships for Queensland women in technology

March 31st, 2006 - Posted in Scholarship

HE Queensland information technology policy minister Chris Cummins officially launched the state’s 2006 Women in Technology Scholarship and Awards program this week.

Cummins said the program is for Queensland girls and women studying or working in technology related fields.

“Each year these awards uncover an incredible depth of talent across the state and I know that nominees in past years, as well as award recipients, have all benefited from the experience,” he said.

“Last year’s winners included students of screen animation and computer systems engineering; a university researcher; the driver of a unique program in North Queensland introducing primary and secondary school girls to technology; a TAFE ICT manager; and an innovative operator commercialising new technology for export.”
