Samsung “Hope for Education†2006
April 28, 2006 - Posted in Education NewsSamsung Electronics America launched the “Hope for Education†essay contest in 2004. Hope for Education is a distinctive educational philanthropy program designed to better educate U.S. elementary, middle and high school students through the delivery of new digital technologies and software.Teachers, administrators, parents and students may enter the contest by writing a 100-word essay on why their school and students are in need of digital technology in the classroom. Samsung has teamed up with Microsoft on this initiative offering $2M in digital technology to 21 winning schools. The essay contest runs from March 1 to June 30. Winning schools are selected and announced in December.
In addition, Samsung is sponsoring an in-classroom technology program beginning April 3, 2006 for ten weeks which includes providing USA TODAY newspapers and educational resources to students and educators in participating schools. Students will study how technology impacts many facets of their lives by reading USA TODAY.
