HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY SCHOLARSHIPS
Manitoba high school hockey players walked away with $5000 out of a possible $10 500 in scholarship money available at the Hockey Manitoba Annual General Meeting over the weekend.
$2500 went to players from the Westman area (Westman High School Hockey League). Dauphin’s Mitchell Clinton, Matthew Morrissette of Vincent Massey, Andrew McGregor from the Souris Valley Vipers, Neepawa’s Scott Newton, and Trevor Van Damme of Glenboro/Carberry all received $500 for their efforts in school, hockey, and community.
Meanwhile, Westman High School Hockey League Commissioner Brad White was presented with the 2006 Hockey Canada Minor Hockey Volunteer Recognition Award.
