Lions Club awards five scholarships
May 25, 2006 - Posted in Education News, ScholarshipThe Chetek chapter of Lions Club International honored five Chetek High School seniors Thursday, May 18, by awarding them with scholarships.
Lions scholarship chair Steve Liker presented scholarships worth $500 each to Derek Piper-Robins, Angelene Bauch, AnnaMarie Larson, Nichole Manor, and Nicole Nicholson. The students will receive the money upon successful completion of their first semester of continuing education, and enrollment in a second semester.
The scholarship money is raised through many fund-raisers held by the Lions every year, including the traditional smelt feed.
Piper Robins is the son of Gerald and Corina Piper Kolanczyk and Ken Robins, and plans to attend UW-Platteville for engineering; Bauch is the daughter of Thomas Bauch and April Nielsen, and plans to attend UW-Madison for engineering; Larson is the daughter of Craig and Sue Larson, and plans to attend UW-Barron County and transfer to the University of Minnesota for Pre-Law; Manor is the daughter of Scott and Nadine Manor, and plans to attend UW-Parkside; Nicholson is the daughter of David and Jodi Nicholson, and plans to go to school for dental hygiene, then pursue her studies in dance.
