Yeager scholarships offer wonderful opportunities

Congratulations are in order today for Wes Clements of Huntington and Matthew Raymond Caldwell of Ironton. Clements, who will graduate from Huntington High School this spring, and Caldwell, who will graduate from St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, are two of this year’s class of 11 Yeager Scholars at Marshall University.

Along with receiving a tuition-free college education, they will participate in special interdisciplinary seminars and extracurricular activities that challenge them to expand their intellectual development in keeping with their potential. They will have the opportunity to study at Oxford University one summer, and they will have another opportunity later for study abroad.

Clements and Caldwell will join 32 other Yeager Scholars already on campus. They have a wonderful opportunity before them. We hope they take full advantage of it and make their families, hometowns and high schools proud.
