American Legion Scholarships Awarded
May 28th, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipDoug Ackerman of Nutley has been awarded scholarships from both Nutley Post 70 and the Department of Essex County American Legion organizations. A member of the Sons of the American Legion for seven years, Doug has been active in a variety of community service activities and can trace his family military history back to the Civil War. Doug is currently an honor student at Nutley High School where he plays varsity hockey. This fall Doug will enter Fairleigh Dickinson University to pursue a career in criminal justice and has also been awarded the Col. Fairleigh Dickinson scholarship along with two additional grants from FDU.
