Hall awarded Woodmen scholarship

Hall has been awarded a $11,000 four-year Fraternal College Scholarship in a national competition with other students who are members of Modern Woodmen of Amer-ica. Modern Woodmen, a fraternal benefit society offering financial services, has local representatives and is based in Rock Island, Ill.
Hall, the daughter of Duane Hall and Cherri Free, Northport, plans to use the scholarship to attend The University of Alabama.
Hall is one of 36 regional scholarship winners chosen this year. Selection is based on students’ personal and academic achievement, in-cluding the results of the American College Testing Program or the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Local representative Robert L. Russell can be reached at 553-9907.
. Qualities of leadership and character and extracurricular activities were also judged.
During the past 37 years, Modern Woodman has committed millions of dollars in financial assistance to hundreds of students through its Fraternal Scholarship Program.
Applications for the 2006-2007 scholarship program will be taken in the fall of 2006.
