Concerts Aid Scholarships
June 10, 2006 - Posted in ScholarshipArizona Western College music professors will present a series of concerts at the Historic Yuma Theatre, 254 S. Main St., to support music education. The first of which will be at 7 p.m. Friday. The program will feature Kerry Lucero, Naomi Lesley and Beth Tibbs in a Bach double violin concerto; Tibbs, a soprano, singing “Porgi amor” from “The Marriage of Figaro”; Brandon Coz performing the percussion solo “Spain” by Chick Corea; Sheryl Seale playing flute; vocal stylings of Chuck Smalley; and Carl Posch in a performance of his own brass quintet composition. Next concerts will be July 14 and Aug. 11. Admission is $5 per person.
