Ronald McDonald House To Award $40,000 In Scholarships To Local Students
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga (RMHC) will host its fifth annual scholarship luncheon on Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at The Chattanoogan, located at 1201 South Broad St.
40 local high school students will receive $1,000 each as part of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga’s Scholarship Program.
The high schools that will be represented are: 21st Century, Boyd- Buchanan, Brainerd, Central, Cleveland, Dalton, Grundy Co., Howard, Lafayette, LFO, Marion Co., McMinn Central, Ooltewah, Pisgah, Polk Co., Rhea Co., Ringgold, Soddy-Daisy and Tyner.
The Ronald McDonald House scholarships are based on financial need, academic achievement and community service. To date, the local RMHC Scholarship Program has awarded more than $160,000 to freshmen year students.
Local McDonald’s restaurants donate the funds for the RMHC scholarships from their ongoing canister promotions.
