Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation recently awarded $2,500 scholarships to Victor Kriger and Matthew Williams, graduating seniors at Belmont High School.

Kriger plans to attend Pennsylvania State University this fall to pursue a degree in business. Williams plans to attend Middlesex Community College and is undecided on a major.

The scholarships were awarded at a dinner at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown. The Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program, now in its 15th year, awarded a total of $60,000 in scholarships this year to graduating high school seniors at 12 public high schools in the area. Scholarships were offered to seniors from each high school - to seniors attending a four-year college and those attending a two-year vocational school or community college. Criteria used in selecting scholarship winners included the students’ involvement in community service and extracurricular activities as well as their academic efforts.

To assist scholarship winners even further with the cost of a higher education, all scholarship winners were invited to apply for part- or full-time jobs at Cambridge Savings Bank.

Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation was founded by Cambridge Savings Bank as the primary charitable contribution vehicle for the bank.
