Indiana University gave students excess financial aid

Sixteen Cortland Students Win Study Abroad Scholarships

Fulbright Exchange Scholar

Catawba scholarships

Two local students have been awarded scholarships to attend Catawba College.
Nicholas Alfieri, a senior at North Rowan High School, will get a Presidential Scholarship. He is the son of Salvatore and Juli Alfieri of Salisbury.
Alona Shoe is receiving a Trustee Scholarship. Daughter of Diane Leder of Salisbury, she is a student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

John Franklin Hoffner, a 2006 graduate of South Rowan High School, has received the 2006 Rowe McNeely 4-H Scholarship.

Hispanic Scholarship Consortium awards $100,000 in scholarships

The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships this year, more than tripling the amount dispersed last year.
Fifty students received scholarships from the consortium at breakfast ceremony this morning. In 2005 — the first year the consortium gave scholarships — the group awarded a total of $30,000 to 25 Austin students.
