STAMPEDER SCHOLARSHIPS

The Swan Valley Stampeders have announced that three players from their 2005-2006 roster have accepted scholarships to NCAA Division 3 schools and one player has accepted a scholarship to an ACAC school.

Forward Carver Dowhan and defenseman Sean Pettinger have committed to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, while goaltender Bo Storozuk is going to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. Defenseman Eric Dacyk is also going to NAIT of the ACAC in Edmonton, Alberta.

Storzuk, 20 of Swan River, Man., posted a 2.99 goals against average and an 18-14-2 record with Swan last season. He played in 40 games.

Dowhan, 20 of Winnipeg, had 17 goals and 30 assists last season to finish third in team scoring and he appeared in 61 games.

Pettinger, 21 of Elgin, Man., had 29 assists and 33 points last season in 56 games.

Dacyk, 20 of Edmonton, returns home to go to school. He led Stampeder defensemen in scoring last season with 9 goals and 34 points in 57 games.
