India Awards Scholarships to 20 Ethiopians
July 8th, 2006 - Posted in Education, ScholarshipTwenty Ethiopian students will be going to India this month to pursue higher studies under the scholarships granted by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) of the Government of India, the Indian embassy in Ethiopia announced yesterday.
According to the embassy, the scholarships are of three-year Bachelor’s degree and two-year Master’s degree courses in computer science, sciences with specialization in biotechnology and geology, business management and administration, law, financial analysis management, development studies, and urban planning.
The students have been admitted to some of the best educational institutions of India like the Universities of Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Osmania and Mysore, the embassy said.
The award is given under the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) and the bilateral Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP), and is administered by the ICCR.
The ICCR annually awards scholarships for higher studies to foreign students of developing countries.
