A city fast-food outlet employee has been awarded a major monetary award.

University student Erin Dushnicky was presented a McDonald’s Employee Scholarship, worth $10,000 over the next two years.

Dushnicky received the scholarship for her academic excellence and outstanding customer service. She’s worked at McDonald’s for two years, and is going into her second year of political science at Lakehead University. Dushnicky says she was shocked when she found out she was one of the nine employees across Canada to win the award.

Three of the nine recipients were from Ontario. Dushnicky says this scholarship will help her save for law school.
