China Education Resources Inc.: Launch of New Era in Teacher Training in China

The 15 day program is officially sanctioned and funded by the Chinese Government’s Ministry of Education (MOE). The initial group of 10,000 teachers from 28 provinces began training August 5 through the company’s China Education Resources and Services Portal (CERSP).
Mr. Chengfeng Zhou, Chairman of China Education Resources Inc., commented, “Training en mass via the internet is a watershed event for the Chinese education sector. This is a most exciting time for our company and our shareholders. This launch culminates 2 years of developing China’s most comprehensive education portal. The incredible response to this initial program is well beyond what we anticipated. In the first four days there were over 3 million visits in addition to visits by teachers participating in the program. There is a tremendous amount of interest and enthusiasm building in China for the introduction of this new era of learning as evidenced by the fact that there were in excess of 670,000 new articles and comments uploaded to the training platform adding valuable new resources to our portal.”
The Chinese Government is implementing substantial changes to the education system in China The Ministry of Education through the Curriculum Development Center has mandated K through 12 curriculum reform by 2010 for the 240 million students and 10 million teachers. The online training of teachers is estimated to be a $1.3 billion USD annual market.
Mr. Zhou elaborated, “In developing CERSP we have assembled leading education authors, prominent government administrators, and leaders in the business community. It is truly a collaborative effort. The education community now has a central location for the best authored content, supplemental materials, and pioneering training technology which will significantly lower the cost of implementation of the government’s mandate.
