Here’s a partial list of new programs and initiatives at colleges and universities:
• Main campus classes begin Aug. 28.
• TSU is offering a new online master’s degree in Professional Studies in Strategic Leadership. The program is offered entirely online and even provides all services online: registration, advisement, classes, homework and professor interaction, purchasing of books and materials, and the library for research. Housed as part of the Institute of Government, the MPS is a multidisciplinary degree consisting of courses in the areas of leadership, communication, strategic planning and assessment, organizational structure, research, and data analysis.
• The massive renovation project under way at the TSU Avon Williams Campus downtown is now in Phase IV, its final stage. Construction is due to be complete in spring 2007. Phase IV includes work on the atrium and facilities management areas, as well as creation of a new open computer laboratory for students and a new home for Continuing Education and Distance Education and Multimedia Services.
