The purpose of the planning grant is to develop a strategic plan to advance entrepreneurship in curriculum and operations across MCC’s five-campus system. This past year, MCC officials made entrepreneurship a strategic priority for the college.

Initially, MCC will use the grant to develop a blueprint to create entrepreneurial capacity in educational offerings and institutional operations.

MCC Chancellor Jackie Snyder has appointed Dr. Bernard Franklin, president of MCC-Penn Valley, to lead the entrepreneurship initiative. With the assistance of the Kauffman Foundation, MCC’s ultimate goal is to develop a national community college entrepreneurship model for educational and operational procedures. MCC will submit an additional implementation proposal to the Kauffman Foundation in October for consideration.
