Sarah Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Susan Harrison and Eugene Smith of Fairhope, has been selected as a finalist in the Pre-Teen Alabama Scholarship and Recognition Program, to be held Saturday through Monday in Birmingham.

Pre-Teen Alabama is an invitation-only event involving girls ages 7 to 12, based on school academic records, awards and honors won, as well as their participation in outside activities. Pre-Teen Alabama will award more than $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards, a spokesman said.

Sarah’s sponsors include Jubilee Music, city of Fairhope, Gulf Coast Construction, Gulf Sound, Eastern Shore Dental, Coffee Loft, Bay Shore Ballet and Ben Jr.’s
