First Mork BBBS scholarship awarded
September 2, 2006 - Posted in Education News, ScholarshipA new scholarship, named after former Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County and Kansas CEO Nick Mork, has been awarded.
Desirae Sheffler won the endowed scholarship, worth $1,500. Sheffler is a freshman majoring in social work at Wichita State University.
The scholarship was recently established there for students who are former little brothers or sisters through the BBBS program.
Mork, who received the WSU Alumni Achievement award this past January, worked for more than 30 years at BBBS of Sedgwick County and Kansas BBBS.
