September 5, 2006 - Posted in Education News, ScholarshipApplications will be available for Clarion University Alumni Association Scholarships and Leadership Awards, beginning Sept. 1. The Alumni Association, through the Clarion University Foundation Inc., is making these undergraduate scholarships available for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Up to two of these scholarships are reserved for children of Clarion University alumni. The remaining money may be awarded as Leadership Awards.
The Clarion University Alumni Association board of directors will select the scholarship winners and the Leadership Award recipients at their February 2007 meeting, with the scholarships being paid in the form of tuition credit for the fall and spring semesters. Scholarship and Leadership Awards applicants must complete an application and may be interviewed.
Full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least 30 credit hours at Clarion University prior to the 2006-2007 academic year and will not be graduating before December of 2007, are eligible to apply.
Application forms and further instructions will be available at the Center for Advancement (corner of Corbett Street and Greenville Avenue ), Clarion Campus. They are also available in the administrative offices at Venango Campus and the Clarion University Pittsburgh site at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing. Completed applications are due at the Center for Advancement by 4 p.m. on Oct. 27.
The evaluation of applicants is based on academic performance, community service, service to Clarion University , letters of recommendation, and financial need.
