Scholarship board names Island Scholar

The National Scholarship Committee and the Board of Education yesterday named the country’s Island Scholar for 2006.

She is Nicole Alicia Roberts who attained national recognition having received distinctions in five subject areas.

She will receive a national scholarship valued at $54,000 per year for studies leading to an undergraduate degree.

At present Roberts is enrolled in the pre-med programme at Yale University, Connecticut, USA, where she is also studying French.

She is the daughter of Dr. George Roberts and Dr. Gwendolyn Fevrier-Roberts.

Nicole is a graduate of the Antigua Girls’ High School, where she earned nine grade ones in her CXC Examinations.
