New Scholarship to Remember Lost Motorcyclist

A scholarship in memory of a student killed in a motorcycle earlier this year could benefit students at Cape Fear Community College.
Wilmington Police Sergeant Warren Kennedy presented a check for more than $4,000 to the president at Cape Fear Community College.
Kennedy raised the money by coordinating a motorcycle ride in memory of Clint Robertson.

Two students recieve the first annual Rueben Savanick Memorial Scholarship

Mercy Oyana, a sophomore, and Phillip Gehman, a first-year, are the first recipients of the Rueben Savanick Memorial Scholarship. Oyana is majoring in the American Sign Language (ASL)-English Interpreter Preparation Program. Scholarship board names Island Scholar

The National Scholarship Committee and the Board of Education yesterday named the country’s Island Scholar for 2006.
She is Nicole Alicia Roberts who attained national recognition having received distinctions in five subject areas.
She will receive a national scholarship valued at $54,000 per year for studies leading to an undergraduate degree.
