ACM Foundation announces five scholarship recipients

The Allegany College of Maryland Foundation has announced the awarding of scholarships to five students for study in the 2006-07 academic year.

Maxine Baker of Cumberland received the J. Suter Kegg Scholarship. She is a communication arts technology major. A 1967 graduate of Bruce High School, she later studied at Potomac State College and Ursinus College.

Timothy Getz of Cumberland was presented the Gerald Albright Heating and Air Conditioning Scholarship. He is a nursing major. A 1990 graduate of the Union Educational Complex in Grant County, W.Va., Getz and his wife, April, are the parents of six children, Chris, Dakota, Dylan, Andrew, Angel and Nate.

Aaron Harris of Burlington, W.Va., received a Western Maryland Street Rod Association Scholarship. He is an automotive technology major. A 2005 graduate of Keyser High School, he is the son of Jim and Lynne Harris.

Kimberly Kesner of Petersburg, W.Va, was awarded the Medical Assistant Scholarship for study in that curriculum. A 1992 graduate of Petersburg High School, she is the mother of four children, Jessica, Kendra, Braxton and Caleb.

Christina Steiding of Westernport received an M&T Bank Scholarship. She is an accounting major. A 2006 graduate of Westmar High School, she is the daughter of Dennis Steiding and Sandy Welsh.
