Doctors donate to YMCA camp scholarship program
October 23rd, 2006 - Posted in Education, ScholarshipThe Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA has received a contribution from Drs. Charlotte and Peter Casterline for the Camp Scholarship Fund established in honor of their two children. The Mrs. Corine C. Sheng and Captain Peter L. Casterline Scholarship Fund was established to allow more than 200 underprivileged children the opportunity to attend summer camp at the YMCA’s Camp Kresge. The YMCA camp program instills four core values: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility. Capt. Casterline serves in the Infantry of the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Iraq and has volunteered for an additional tour of duty in Afghanistan. His sister, Corine, is an elementary school teacher.
