DEARBORN – CitiGroup CIO Marv Adams will keynote the Michigan Council of Women in Technology’s Third Annual Scholarship Fundraising Silent Auction Nov. 16 at the Ford Conference and Events Center.

The women technology networking group hopes to raise some $20,000 to fully fund scholarships for women entering the information technology field throughout southeast Michigan.

Last year, this event raised $12,000 that went to six deserving University and post-graduate scholarship recipients.

This year’s gala occasion is sponsored by Ford Motor Company, whose CIO, Rick Smither, will serve as event chairperson.

Tickets to attend the evening activities are: $20 for members and students; $50 for non-members.

All funds will go toward the MCWT Foundation’s scholarship program, helping women who would otherwise not have the financial backing to pursue their educational goals, gain a competitive skill set and become leaders in Michigan’s technology community. At the heart of MCWT is a commitment to support and advance women in technology.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 16 from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Ford Conference and Event Center 1151 Village Drive (Across from The Henry Ford & IMAX Theater) in Dearborn.
