Local high school students can apply for scholarships to study abroad through the ASSE International Student Exchange Program.

Students can spend an academic year, three-month period or summer holiday in Europe, Asia, South America, New Zealand, Australia or South Africa. Students ages 15 to 18 can qualify based on academic performance, character references and a desire to study abroad.

Students are not required to know a foreign language to qualify. ASSE provides language and cultural instruction.

ASSE was founded by the Swedish National Department of Education.
