Scholarship applications available for eighth annual Women’s Workshop and Resource Fair
December 28th, 2006 - Posted in Education, ScholarshipScholarship applications are now available for the Eighth Annual Women for Women Workshop and Resource Fair scheduled to take place from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
The event is co-sponsored by Oregon Coast Community College, Newport Business and Professional Women, and Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay and is designed to provide convenient access to business and personal training for women.
“Thanks to Newport Business and Professional Women, we will once again be able to offer scholarships to women who can’t afford the registration fee,” noted Claire Little, chairperson and owner of Life Cycle Financial Planning. “We want to make this workshop available to as many women as possible.”
A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to Lincoln County women needing assistance with their registration fee. Applications for the award are now available at any Oregon Coast Community College location. The deadline for submission is Jan. 15, 2007.
The workshop will focus on the a variety of issues facing women today, such career transitions, vital health screenings for women, help for working mothers and taking your local business to the next level. A special lunch program will focus on the image you want to project as you choose what to wear.
Cost for attendance is $36, or $46 at the door, and includes continental breakfast, workshop materials, refreshments, lunch and admission to the Aquarium exhibits at the conclusion of the workshop.
